What a week last week was and boy am I glad it’s over!
My Word of the Week post onon Friday was all that was good in my week and for those reasons it was a lovely week,
By no means was it an easy one at all, so I am going apologise ‘coz this is going to be one heck of a whingy post, a please feel sorry for me one.
Insert all where appropriate for added drama *eye rolling, sighing, head shaking, chuckling, tutting, dramatic music*
And off we go,
It started on a horrific Monday morning, nothing specific apart from the fact it was Monday yet again, I mean serioulsy once in a while these things should just be cancelled, oh wait, that’s what bank holidays are for….. duh!
Anywhoo, Monday day 4 of my 7 day straight working week of mainly late finishes I should add (gone 9pm) followed by silly 7am starts (grrr I am NOT a morning person at all) and as I woke up I noticed that something wasn’t quite right with my eye, the vision was kind of funny like when you have looked into a bright light and it’s kind of a bit blurry and those spots you get for a while afterwoods.
So I got on with my morning as it was my sisters birthday and I had work later on *cue eye rolling here*
It didn’t go so I decided that straight after work on Tuesday I would call into my opticians and she what they had to say if it hadn’t disappeared.
And no it hadn’t *insert dramatic music here, dum, dum, dummmmm*
Another shift over I headed off to get Olivia from school with a quick trip to opticians in mind then off up to Asda to choose her birthday cake.
*time for the big sigh*
Yep, you guessed it best laid plans and all that out the metaphorical window! I will save you from the choice language that went through my head at this point but damn it, I was still getting that birthday cake!
I didn’t get the birthday cake, I had to take Olivia straight to my mums as I needed to drag my sorry (and knackered) behind up to A&E as my optician wasn’t available to see me and as I have not long had a really bad eye infection in the same eye it was advised I had to go straight up!
3 hours later I was sent packing from our local A&E department, well I say local its half an hour on the bus on the same route as I go to work and I had already done that journey today *sobbing from me goes here*
I was referred back to the eye department with an appointment for Thursday. Straight from work again but at least I didn’t have to go home and come back again this time!
But again I wanted to get this birthday cake, how selfish of me to have something wrong with me right on Olivia’s birthday. But no it wasn’t to be *insert emotion as appropriate here if required* and so it was left to my sister to collect for me. Honestly I was more disappointed by this than Olivia who wasn’t fussed as long as it was chocolate of some sort!
Again this was a 2 and a half hour visit at the hospital but it was finally all over *cheering* and I could look forward to 2 days off (generous hey!) for Olivia’s birthday and we has some super fun things planned. No sleep was factored in though unfortunately for me *more sobbing, hysterical sobbing is appropriate*
It was all over and I made it through the week with a big thanks to coffee and twitter, my good friend Jo with lots of sympathy and “get off your damn phone” messages and my blog, did I mention I managed to throw together some blog posts too!
I know I am wonder woman I am, a really knackered, drained, exhausted wonder womannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
*falls asleep on laptop*
* Definition of Wonder Woman: a mum as described on Wikipedia (I know it’s not I made that bit up but it bloody well should be and I definitely can’t rock that outfit as well as she can)*
p.s. nothing can be done with my eye issue nothing serious for mow anyway buts that fodder for another post.
Spread the love
