I wanted a carpet cleaner, I didn’t necessarily need one, I mean because you can rent them can’t you but surely owning one would be easier wouldn’t it and could possibly save me from having to fork out for new carpets! I needed a new vacuum, yes I had George who could hoover and clean but alas, we didn’t get on so off he went to live with my sister whilst I pondered over what I wanted.
The thing is I have champagne taste on a lambrini budget so whatcha guna do! It had to be practical, do what it is supposed to, be budget friendly and last basically.
In the end I decided I wanted an upright and obviously separate machines of course. So I looked and looked, read review after review and finally I found them, in the freakin’ sale too! Result!
I went with the Bissell Powerforce PET 300 and the Bissell Deluxe carpet washer. I ended up getting them for £129 and £189 respectively. You know what so far so good I am more than happy with my choice and more importantly my carpets look so much better for it too. And…………… I am actually using them both………regularly! W.T.Heck! I know right me, cleaning an achievement all in itself there isn’t it. So I thought as I read reviews to make my purchase the least I could do was review what I had bought, right? These are my own honest thoughts 100% .

The good bits
Well firstly it is really easy to put together I managed it on my own, and it is really easy to use too. It is bagless which I like and has different attachments for the hose perfect for cleaning the stairs and my sofa. But I love how they all have their own little space to live so no messing around looking for what you need they are right there in front of you. There is a dial on the front to use the vacuum on a range of flooring from hard floor to deep pile so I can hoover my laminate and my rug with no problems at all. The suction is brilliant and I love that one of the tools is like a smaller version of the vaccum itself ,so you still get the same brilliant suction regardless of how you are using it, it really gets all those annoying little bits off my black sofa. It also has a decent amount of cable meaning I can get around most of my house without having to keep unplugging it in every room. Emptying it is also really quick and simple too. There is no ear busting noises on this neither, whilst it’s not whisper quiet it’s certainly not loud either. But most importantly it is purple so matches my kitchen! Result ha!
The not so good bits
On first thoughts the plastic used to make it seems kinda cheap and flimsy if you know what I mean and upon using it I still feel the same. I recommend making sure you are using the right setting for what you are hovering eg my rug is deep pile but my carpets are worn, so if I used it on my carpets on a deep pile setting I feel like it could actually break (this for me just proves how good the suction is tho!) I hope that’s not the case but just be careful anyway. The hoover is light to use, meaning that when I am cleaning my sofa I have to hold it down as there is nothing to stop you puling it over if you reach too far. This brings me nicely to my next point. The previous one could be avoided if the hose was longer, like a lot longer. There is a piece of tubing you can add for slightly extra length but still for using on furniture and more importantly the stairs, it really could do with being longer. Even though it is light to use it’s not so light when carrying it up the stairs, manageable for me but maybe not someone who has issues with lifting things.
I love it, despite the few nagging issues mentioned above I am really pleased with my purchase and would recommend it.

The good bits
Where to start, well again really easy to put together done all by moi. All parts have their own place different tools for different cleaning jobs and another dial to switch from floor cleaning to tools for sofa’s, suites, beds etc, really simple. Designed so the frame makes it easy to hold to carry around if need be ie up the stairs. There are buttons on the back to switch on and recline the machine for ease of use and they are at the bottom so all done with a tap of the foot, no messing about here! Now the water tank is only small meaning you can clean a standard room per fill but……it fits perfect in my sink positioned under the tap so no lugging buckets of water to and from the machine. It has its own little carry handle and the lid literally clips on simples! You fill through the cap on the top filling the inside cavity then the dirty (or really dirty in my case) water fills up around the outside using the space freed up as the clean water is used and then is easily poured out. When you use it it’s so, so easy, you switch it on, press the water release button on the handle and use like a hoover whilst watching the dirty water fill the tank (my favourite part) and if you leave it on releasing the water button it continues to suck up excess water to help speed up drying times. When using the tools it is still just as easy and the hose has a good length to be able to cover half of my staircase and the machine is completely stable, I tried this at the top of the stairs not even a wobble . The most important part, it cleans like a dream. I was horrified and completely obsessed with watching the dirty water appear in the tank. You totally underestimate how dirty your carpets actually get, oh it’s so gross, but totally satisfying at the same time.
The not so good bits
Love, love ,love it! I have cleaned my carpets 4, yes 4 times since it arrived on September 2nd! It’s like my new obsession (fyi I am available for hire for a good cup of coffee and cake!) I would buy it again in a heart beat.
I love it, I mean like more than cake love it possibly the best £189 I have ever spent on a cleaning appliance come new favourite thing in the world!
Well as you can my sofa and carpet in the hall were well past due for a good clean disgusting right!
I have tried to take the pictures as close to same spot as possible. As you can see the sofa came up amazing! Now the carpet, as you can tell it was pretty dirty and this picture was taken after 2 cleans and it has come up so much better already but since I have given it another two cleans and it’s looking better again. I think it will need another couple of cleans as it’s pretty ground in I’m ashamed to say. As I mentioned before some stains are still there but overall everything looks much better and cleaner just take a look at the pic below can you say ewwww……
The water is actually black! Black! Still after the second clean! Just so you can see how much dirt it pulls out. I used it with Bissell Deep Clean +oxy solution at first then with a bottle of Wash and Refresh with Febreze.
If you would some more technical information about either product you can find it all at www.bisselldirect.co.uk.
So, what do you think? Worth the money? Have you ever used Bissell machines or would you ever consider buying them?
