Wonderstreet, A Real Aladdin’s Cave

Have you heard of Wonderstreet before? I hadn’t. An online market place specialising in bringing you the very best pieces from homegrown British artists. With a plethora of items to choose you may well be surprised as I was at what you can find there. Not just traditional pieces or art, canvas paintings for your wall as you may think (although these are available too) but with artwork designed on and for a myriad of different items.

With cushions, wall coverings, tableware, clothing, prints and more, Wonderstreet is committed to bringing you something different, something not available on the high street. As well as a straight forward buy now store, Wonderstreet brings the market place to you. Love to get a bargain? Can you haggle with best of them? You can opt to make the artist an offer and see if you can procure yourself an original design at a price that suits you and the seller.

Armed with a complementary gift voucher I began to peruse the site. It took me the longest time to make my mind up, I’ll tell you. Having never been faced with products quite like this before my indecisive nature took over leaving me umming and ahhing over what to purchase.

Using the Site.

I had a bit of difficulty in navigating my way around. I found the site focused mainly on the items you can offer a price for. Being wary and not wanting to insult anyone I ventured into the shop part of the site. This is something being taken under consideration with improvements in progress to improve user experience and make it easier for buyers to snap up their favourite items. I personally would like to see more categories and sections as currently you have to scroll through to find what you are looking for. That being said they do have a ‘Wonders of the Week’ section of the best items on offer that week.

What Did I Order?

As you may have noticed I seem to have a thing for cushions right now. The choice of designs is amazing and narrowing it down to just one was quite hard. However when I did make the decision I was happy to discover it had gone into the sale! Woohoo, I love a good bargain.

Say hello to my my new ‘There’s no place likeΒ home’ cushion (on sale for Β£35 from Jacqui Joseph Designs) Being home birds this is perfect for Olivia and I!

Oh I love the cushion, so does Olivia. Really plump and full, the cover is so soft too. Made from washable microfibre suede it gives it that little something my other cushions don’t have. The snuggle factor (100% the technical name honest) I keep catching Olivia just sitting there stroking it and I don’t blame her. I have a feeling I should have ordered us one each!

The colour of the cushion is just gorgeous and the detail that has gone into it is lovely. I just keep looking at it thinking how pretty it is, it has an almost innocent childlike quality to it. I have to admit I was wary of how it would look after I ordered it and opened it up with slight trepidation. But I needn’t have worried I am thrilled with it.

What do you think? did I make the right choice? I think so. This Christmas why not take a different route. Choose handmade, choose British and give a really unique gift. Or if you really can’t decide you can always purchase yourself a gift card!

*Disclaimer: We were gifted a voucher code to peruse the site and write about how we found it and the product we ordered. All thoughts are my own based on my experiences*

I am not a fan of cushions since children arrived – mainly because of the amount of times I had to pick them up from the floor. These are pretty though, maybe we can have pretty cushions again one day! #KCACOLS

The cushion looks fab. Snuggle family factor is definitely a thing lol. Nice to see an original site with British artists making a name for themselves.
