Weight Management Made Easy with Exante

You’ve seen the adverts haven’t you, you know the ones. The ones promoting their range of diet foods, all ready made and good to go. For the most part all you have to do is open and serve. The most complicated it gets is having to throw it in the microwave! This people is my kind of diet, fact!

To have all the thinking taken out of your meal times and with no preparation, unless you want to be fancy and add a bit of veg or something, but we all know that kind of thing is beyond me (just kidding although not I’m not the greatest in the kitchen unless leaving it counts in which case I so am, I can burn boil a bit of veg). Microwave meals made easy. Healthy meals designed not only to help you lost weight but to keep you full in between to reduce snacking, it’s like the holy grail of weight loss isn’t it. Sounds far too good to be true but is it?

Well, actually not so much you know.

For I have had the opportunity to try out some meals from the Exante diet range, the UK’s leading online diet and weight management service. Specialising in providing VLCD (very low calorie diet) for weight loss and weight management plans for those wishing to keep the weight off, Exante diet provide easy meal solutions to help you achieve your target.

It’s safe to say I was rubbing my hands with glee at the chance to try out some of their products and put them to the test against my gluttonous appetite! Can they keep me full for longer than 2 hours? Will they actually taste nice and please send me a years worth so I never have to cook again, were some of the questions going through my mind. Real meals from a microwave and not a disapproving look in sight!

What did I get?

I got a wide selection of products from across all of their different ranges. Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry Shakes. Granola, Strawberry Protein Wafer and Toffee, Nut and Raisin Bar. Tuscan Chicken Soup, Curried Sweet Potato Soup and Tomato and Marscopone Soup. Mexican Rice with Thai Green Curry, Vegetarian Lasgna, Beef Stew, Cottage Pie and Tuna Pasta Bake. Double Choc Chip Cookie and lastly a shaker bottle to mix my shakes.

What Did I think?

Taste wise it’s a bit of a mixed bag for me really. On one hand there were some amazing dishes, the Vegetable Lasagna was literally a taste explosion in my mouth. The flavours really worked and I still can’t stop raving about it, just superb! Also the Tomato and Marscapone soup was just sublime. It was so creamy and moreish I didn’t feel like I was eating diet food at all. The Cottage Pie was also delicious, not quite as flavoursome as the previous dishes but still a really enjoyable family classic meal.

I also enjoyed the Tuscan Chicken Soup and the Granola. I loved being able to have granola as usually I shy away from it as it’s laden with sugars and inevitably I go for the chocolate variety.

The shakes I found drinkable, the flavours I received were a bit on the bland side for my taste buds but a nice consistency for a shake. This was also true of the flavour of the Beef Stew. I loved the nice, good chunks of meat but found myself wishing for a bit more flavour. This is something that would benefit from some added herbs and spices and some vegetables on the side to give it more of an impact.

Now there were some meals that I didn’t find enjoyable. But I want to stress that while I didn’t personally find them enjoyable you might actually like them, they just weren’t my cup of tea.

How did Exante Diet fit into my lifestyle?

Me and my Exante Diet meals went together like fish and chips. A match made in heaven. With meals small enough to fit in your bag whilst out and about like the double choc chip cookie to the shakes you can make whilst at work with no kitchen facilities. They really do think of everything. The hardest part of dieting for me is knowing what to eat when I’m out and about and with a cookie for a meal it takes away the stress of trying to find something healthy and filling without opting for that salad you know isn’t going to fill you up for long!

I loved how the meals are quick and easy to prepare at home. 3 minutes in a microwave and boom! Dinner is served, what more could you ask for after a long day at work when the desire to cook left you shortly after breakfast and the chippy next door but one has your favourite meal ready to go. Eat on their own or add vegetables on the side, the choice is yours.

Do the meals really fill you up?

That’s a kind of make of break thing for me. If it’s not filling me up for longer than two hours there is really no hope of me sticking to anything really. That being said I genuinely didn’t feel too hungry on these. Paired with drinking more water I found I was able to go longer without having those murderous give me chocolate now episodes. With the meals being specially prepared to make sure they are all nutritionally balanced, my sugar cravings were reduced and my appetite under control.

Verdict.

Love, love, love. That’s all I have to say. I have often wondered if these diets are worth the money and I can now say hand on heart that yes they really are. While some meals were to my liking, they weren’t ‘bad’ meals just not to my taste. For the convenience of having a ready made nutritional and balanced meal prepared correctly, Exante diets are a must for me. I actually lost weight too! I can now get into my size 16 jeggings that I was beginning to think would be languishing at the back of my wardrobe for eternity.

So today I was trying some clothes on that I got before and for my birthday (14th july) all a little bit too tight in places. I swore I would be able to fit into them by my holiday next week so I tried them on as I’m packing my suitcase today. THEY ALL FIT. These jeggings I got in June and I couldn’t even get them on. They are a size 16. Today I am taking back the size 18 jeans I bought yesterday thinking the ones I had in a 16 wouldn’t fit. This is just what I need. Thanks to @exantediet for helping me out this month #weightloss #healthyeating #healthy #size16 #confidence #confident #determination #determined #kcacols #exercise #exante #happy #holiday #diet

A week supply similar to the package I received is £49. for 3 meals a day for 7 days. So when you think about it like that, it’s under £2.50 per meal. I can spend a fiver on a meal at the chippy easy, or on a meal deal at work. Let’s face it we all waste money on food at some point don’t we. In this respect it is absolutely worth it 100% for me because personally I would struggle to find meals like this for less than £2.50 that were actually good for me.

I have to admit, I am always skeptical of diet foods but this really sounds great. As you say, you want to feel full not hungry again after an hour or so. These sound fab even if you’re not specifically dieting! And the price is great. Even cooking from scratch I’d spend more than £2.50 per head most days. Thank you for sharing. #KCACOLS

Ooo these look really nice! I’ve never heard of Exante before but will look into it. I’ve tried SlimmingWorld but in all honesty it’s too much effort really! #KCACOLS

Great review! I got to review for them a while ago and it looks like they have updated their products slightly as I just got the powder sachets and really struggled with the texture of the meals. However I did lose weight and would recommend them because of that 🙂

These sound great. I always wonder if the flavours would last and still be satisfying after a period of time. #KCACOLS

I’d love to try something like this to give me the kick up the bum I need to get back on track with healthy eating. Since I had my baby boy 6 months ago I’ve used the ‘I’ve just had a baby’ excuse far too much and need to get back on it. Lovely honest review. Thanks for sharing. x #KCACOLS

Nice honest review. I like my Indian takeaways too much to diet but if I was going to I like the sound of the variety in this one. Thanks for sharing #KCACOLS

I did a similar diet before I went to Oz as a quick fix to lose a bit of weight. Like you I enjoyed that I didn’t have to cook and after a few days I got used to eating less and drinking lots of water. I lost a stone in three weeks which was great, however I did have a night out and alcohol wasn’t a good mixture on a VLCD so be careful with that.
Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next Sunday. Xx
