The Secrets of Saltlake: Let The Battle Commence
The sky literally screamed above her as it unleashed lightning so intense and furious all underneath it cowered for dear life. Everyone and everything running and scattering away from a sight so unnatural. But Ariel stood firm and absorbed its screams as they rained down on her little piece of Earth.
Her vision totally obscured by the vivid purple of her dreams as that familiar feeling of falling returned to her once more. Only she wasn’t falling into something she was falling from something. They wanted her to feel like she was falling from her throne. They wanted to stop her from returning by dragging her further and further away and into the darkness
The other worldly abomination had come to life and after 11 years of running and hiding the Corleaux had found her. Not content with running her family, the rightful heirs to the throne of Auragon Galaxy – the first family itself, from their home. They had now found her on Earth, where her family came to hide and she could feel their desire to eliminate her and her family. But Ariel would not be swayed, she would not listen to their voices in her head. She was ready and her lessons off her dad these past few weeks would pay off. She would fight to the death for her, her family and for Jonny if that’s what it took.
Jonny unknowingly was a part of this too. The council leaders of Saltlake, of which Jonny’s dad was a part of and also town judge, knew of Ariel’s family secret and all these years had been forming a barrier to protect them. Saltlake, like Ariel, had its own secrets she found out not so long ago. Saltlake was called Saltlake due to the unnatural colour of the sand thanks to an ancient war that was still raging now from galaxies Earth was yet to discover existed.
The white sand was from another lightning storm, from another galaxy neighbouring Auragon many lightyears away from Earth. But yet they had found Earth, just like the Corleaux and unleashed its venom. That venom, the power it emitted, made its way to the small town. The battle that had erupted left its mark on the area in the form of white grains. Those same grains are now beach of Saltlake. The council were formed soon after as guardians and protectors of Earth.
They also took in those fleeing the wars until they could rightfully return home. Like Ariel and her family. Jonny’s grandfathers before him chose not to fight and remain now on Earth. The keepers of Saltlake and restorers of peace it was only natural that he and Ariel would end up together.
These days Jonny didn’t hold any of the magicks once held by his people who came before him. But him calm, warming strength made him the perfect leader and protector.
Jonny wasn’t here with her now and Ariel was just biding her time. Waiting until her family was reunited as a whole. Her powers had developed tenfold and her mind could do amazing things. Just by thinking it she could hold and absorb the power of the lightning attacks that were no doubt the work of the Corleaux. But she was just one and there was only so much in her reserves that she could tap into.
Her chocolate brown hair whipped her face as the winds gathered speed. Wreaking havoc on the small town around her. She could stop the lightning but the wind was proving trickier to control. She had to remain calm and focused. She closed her eyes to still her breathing. Her minds eyes showing her, her path and the route she now needed to take.
Like a light switch flicking on, she felt her mother and father reunite back on Earth and in Saltlake with her. She could feel them at the high school. Remembering her father regaling her with the tales of how families of galaxies in the past had escaped through tunnels under the school Ariel felt their urgency to make their way there and to meet her. But how would they make it in time?
Opening up her mind to let her parents in, they formed a plan. Her joy at reuniting with her mother would have to wait a while.
Ariel thought of all the time she spent at that building. It was where she met Brianne and Emma not so long ago. She wasn’t ready to shed her human skin and destroy all her memories and life so far, but she knew she had to. Summoning all her powers she teased the Corleaux luring them away from the sandy beach to where she would have the upper hand.
It felt like forever before she reached the school. Her mind doing all the work and she was feeling the strain. She piggybacked off her parent’s reserves to conserve some of her own. She just had to remain calm and focused and not let the sight of her mother break her concentration. As soon as she reached the school the immense power it held beneath its surface surged through her veins filling her with a power unlike any she had ever felt before or imagined in her dreams. It must be her parents she thought as she caught sight of her mother in the corner of her eye. Their union and now Ariel’s appearance must have unlocked its power and is now allowing Ariel and her parents to draw on it from deep within to help them win this one last battle.
But there was no time for a reunion. A feeling of fear gripped her soul and she knew now was the time. The battle had begun and Ariel was instrumental in her parent’s fight for justice. She was also fighting to return home, to Auragon with both of her parents.
Intertwining fingers Ariel, Jamieson and Dannielle formed a Trinity. Made up of three people, the Trinity is formed in between them and allows a great power to be unleashed. Ariel took her place and welcomed their powers, merging her own at its core. The Corleaux had no chance against the oldest family and power of Auragon as the Royal Family unleashed theirs fully inside the Trinity. The one and only true power and royal family of Auragon were finally free and this time nothing and no-one could stop them.
