Olivia’s Tuesday LookBook: Huxley’s Style
Welcome to the first Olivia’s Tuesday LookBook of 2017. I know I’ve been a bit slack with this series over the Christmas break but we are back with a bang and introducing the ridiculously cute Huxley’s style who is the baby in Hux Life – Man Vs Baby.
Olivia’s Tuesday LookBook is a new children’s style series for Olivia’s Corner. Anyone is welcome to join in and we would love to have you! If you would like to know more please head over to the Olivia’s Tuesday LookBook page for more information.
Hi, my name is Luke, a 30 something new father from Norwich with a baby boy named Huxley.
I have only recently started blogging to share with the world my new adventures as a Father/Dad/Papa. I admit, I lived a party lifestyle until Huxley came along. Needless to say things have calmed down A LOT – Although I occasionally suffer FOMO (Fear of missing out). New experiences come thick and fast with a baby, twinned with a range of emotions. My blog acts partly as a diary but also to show the humorous side of dealing with a first-time child, along with frank comments that perhaps shouldn’t get aired aloud.
As a 7-month-old baby boy, Huxley hasn’t really got a choice or say in the clothes he wears. He’s never happier than when naked. But its just not practical (chilly willy), especially now the cold days of winter have truly set in.
In my opinion children’s clothing can come across a bit garish and humiliating for the wearer, even though they are none the wiser. Fun, yes, but is the joke on you? Bold colourful prints of cars, animals and tractors ensure passers-by don’t offend on mixing up the gender of your baby, but it is really necessary?
As parents of Huxley it is not in our nature to parade around in eye-catching threads and prefer a more conservative (boring perhaps) look, this has somewhat been reflected in the garms we dress Hux’ in. We’ve taken a different approach by sticking with clothing that supports independent companies who pride themselves on good ethics and being environmentally friendly. Not exclusive but some of our high street favourites are H&M, Zara and Gap.
Below are some snaps of Huxley showing his best Zoolander – Blue Steel gaze being a clothes horse in some of his/our favourites:
Mère Soeur – Grey ‘Rad Hang’ Jumper (www.meresoeur.com)
Tiny Cottons – Green/Grey Stripe One-piece (www.tinycottons.com)
Turtle Dove – Mr Bunny Drop Hem Jumper (www.turtledovelondon.com)
Beau Loves – Grey Mask sleeveless jumpsuit (www.beauloves.co.uk)
Cribstar – NOT YOUR BASIC BABY Romper (www.cribstar.co.uk)
Seriously how cute is Huxley please and those outfits are seriously so cool aren’t they! Who else is thinking of shopping at independent stores for clothing now too! I know I certainly am for Olivia. If you would like to find out more about Huxley and Luke you can find them in the following places;
