Jack and the Beanstalk at the Blackpool Tower Circus
“He’s behind you”
Sorry, sorry I just had to. I’ll get back to the subject at hand which is Jack and the Beanstalk at the Blackpool Tower Circus. This years panto with Mooky and Mr Boo. You may remember we visited for the first time last year to see Pinocchio . Could Jack and the Beanstalk live up to the awesome show that introduced us to the fabulous Blackpool Tower Circus?
Our viewpoint this year was from the balcony. Way up in the rafters looking down on the action. As someone with a huge fear of falling this set me as a disadvantage, could I get over it and enjoy the show? Actually yes I could, and I did.
Featuring Mooky as Jack can he win the heart of fair Gill and save the town from the giant? Well that’s for you to go and find out isn’t it! But should you go and find out? That’s what I’m here for isn’t it!
Should You Join Jack as he goes up the Beanstalk?
Bringing the all the Mooky charm and slapstick to the role of Jack creates a fun character you can’t help but want to succeed. Go Jack and win Jills heart. Fight the giant and defeat Mr. Boo! Full of easy laughs and plenty of opportunities for crowd interaction. Jack and the Beanstalk features a great soundtrack to help move the story along and liven the show up even more with the help of some great dancers.
The girls both loved the show and clapped and sung along all the way through. Scaring me by standing up and holding onto the railing in front to get a better view to cheer and boo and make sure they didn’t miss a thing. It was still just as enjoyable from our high view point.
It certainly gave some of the performances a bit more of a wow factor. Such amazing talent to pull of the stunts as the circus acts were seamlessly woven into the story by way of…. wait for it…… a town circus performance. Sometimes the simplest ideas work the best. Literally breath taking to watch. I’m not sure I even breathed at certain points. I know I was watching from behind my hands that’s for sure.
I can tell you, from the applause at the end, that the opening performance was a complete success and I am pleased to say they performed the 12 gifts of panto again. And again with much hilarity. Definitely one of my favourite parts of the show.
Worth A Visit to see Jack and the Beanstalk at the Blackpool Tower Circus?
In my opinion yes. Blackpool Tower Circus brings you a fun, traditional panto with laughs and thrills aplenty and I for one will be making it a yearly trip to be visiting for panto. I was wowed last year and this year certainly didn’t disappoint. I’m just not sure I can brave the balcony again though.
