Happy Aunties Day 2017: This Years Gifts

It’s that time of year again. Mother’s Day is on the 26th March this year (you didn’t forget did you?) and Olivia has her Aunties Day Bags already to go.

We do this every year, on Mother’s Day and now Christmas for my sisters. Olivia loves to spoil her Aunties and her little Aunties Day Bags are the most anticipated presents for both events! To be totally honest, though, this year I forgot! One of my sisters asked Olivia if she had her Aunties Day Bags ready a couple of weeks ago and I couldn’t believe I had forgotten!

Cue manic rush around my local shopping centre for bits to put in them! I think we done good, considering. All they need is a few more sweets and they’re good to go! You have probably already read how we fill them but in case you have forgotten all they are is a small perfume-sized gift bag, a personalised item or more for around ¬£5 in total and then fill it with sweets. Simple.

What do you think? Normally we go for different products but I really liked all of these and to be honest I don’t think they’ll mind having the same. They go straight for the sweets anyway! I got most of these items in Home Bargains and The Card Factory. It’s amazing what you can find, that you might otherwise miss when you are looking for certain things, isn’t it?

I’m actually shocked we managed to fit it all in with room left for sweets!

Birthday Bags.

Because these bags are such a big hit with everyone, not just my sisters, I tried it out on one of my nieces. I filled a perfume-sized bag with sweets, opened out of packets, and mixed in some shopkins too. She loved having to eat her way through to find more Shopkins. Plus it was much more fun than just opening a present too. I did pre-warn her though before she ate any of them! Her mum would have killed me!

But it got me thinking, would this work for birthday presents too? Could I possibly use different bags, as oppose to gift bags or boxes, for my sister’s presents? Or even anyone’s really?

We absolutely love anything personalised and bags are no different. Olivia has a Claireabella canvas bag and loves it. So, what if I filled a bag for life with presents and then they get to keep the bag too? Now, I’m not talking your bog standard 10p Asda green plastic bag, although I have done that before! I mean like a nice canvas bag for life that you can personalise for the recipient? Like these ones from The Bag Workshop.

They would¬†still be able to get some use out of the bags once they are empty. And not be caught out without carrier bags when we go shopping! Plus, they are much better than a plastic bag aren’t they? Or paying to promote a store because you forgot to bring one!

I would love to have these for my Aunties Day Bags too but I don’t think they do them small enough. But for birthdays, they would be a great size to fill up with loads of goodies, should I choose to not buy one big present or be lazy and give them cash.

Would this work?

We have already ploughed through all of our March birthdays, Olivia’s was the last. But I have my mum’s and one of my sister’s in April along with my youngest niece so maybe? Who knows. I can buy a bag for life and fill it with all kinds of sweets and presents, what do you think? Maybe going forward I could also include a holiday card too. That would be a lovely keepsake for them all, a personalised picture of Olivia with each of her aunties.

*Disclaimer: This is a collaborative post however all items included for my Aunties Day Bags were purchased by myself*
