olivia's birthday interview

Welcome to One Frazzled Mum, the, and I use this phrase loosely, parenting and lifestyle blog. I say loosely as I have no idea what lifestyle is classed as and even though my style of parenting is highly un-recommended (the lets make it up as we go along method) I am still a parent and at times blog about my continued failures in trying to bring up my daughter.

I am Tracey and I am mum to Olivia. Together we are the brains behind the words and this oh so random blog you have now found yourself reading. If by any chance you have found yourself wanting to know about either one of us then by all means have a little nosey below about what makes us tick.

TRACEY

about me pic for one frazzled mum

This is me Tracey. I am a 34 (nearly 35) year old single mum of one. I live in Wirral, never heard of it? It’s by Liverpool, the other side of the Mersey where the Ferry goes. That’s how I usually describe it to people who look at me with a blank stare as if I’ve just said I live in Timbuctoo! With the formalities out of the way lets get to the juicy stuff. Oh, wait I think I have squeezed all the juicy stuff out :/

I left school at 16 with hopes of joining the big bad world and making my mark and until that happened I decided to go and stack some shelves for a living. Full on customer service in the fast paced world of retail. Almost 20 years later you can still find me working in a shop albeit not the same one but I am still waiting for that moment to make my mark. During this time I have experienced the best and worst types of retail working environments and I am now back working at place I left months before getting pregnant with Olivia, go figure!

This little blog is my sanity and my saviour. Lost and without direction, it has helped me to figure what I love to do and what I want to be when I grow up. I started this blog as an outlet for my thoughts. Described as a day dreamer with her head in the clouds and lost in my thoughts, here is where my thoughts end up. No longer lost. Writing on here has helped me merge my passions and hobbies and start out on a path to helping me achieve a dream that was once long forgotten and is now thriving. You see, I love to read. Reading other people books has fired the desire in me to write my own and that is what I am currently aiming to achieve. It may of taken a while but better late than never right!

So there we have it, my goal and new found direction in life. But what about me, what do I like to do and where can I be found? As well as reading, I love chocolate, coffee and box sets and even better if they are together! If I am not on the sofa getting lost in someone else’s world I can either be found writing on here or posting bad selfies to Instagram and/or probably getting distracted on twitter. If I have any time left I am usually being pulled into playing with dolls with Olivia or some other hare brained idea she has at any given moment.

Then I also try to squeeze in some gym time. Head off to a Zumba class or cool down during an Aqua class. If I am feeling brave you can find me doing HIIT workouts at home of a Kettlecise Class with my hairdresser you know just for fun! If you want to know anymore then by all means connect with me via email, tracey@onefrazzledmum.com or any of my social media channels.

Olivia.

olivias about me picOh, Olivia, Olivia, Olivia. where to start. This bundle of craziness is far too much personality to be confined to one page so I will try to condense it for you. She is 10 going 30. Born 5 weeks premature she remains impatient to this days, wanting it all and wanting it now. With a zest for life and chocolate, no idea where she gets that from!, she is a fierce young lady who know what she wants and tries her damnedest to get it. She can often be found posing on the blog in various outfit posts and all over my instagram feed too. She loves to have her cake and eat it so long as there is no icing, jam, butter, cream, sprinkles or flavouring other than chocolate involved. I mean that literally too.

She has a small obsession with, bread, tuna, dolls and clothes which sees me having to ration them all at any given moment. She considers herself a doll collector however not one of them remain in their original boxes but all are well played with and loved in her vast collection. A collection currently comprised of Monster High, Ever After High, My Little Pony, Disney Princess and Barbie to name a few. She is mad about arts and crafts and want to be an singer/artist when she grows up (*subject to change*) She loves to sing and dance along to You Tube videos and is a massive fan of Little Mix, Taylor Swift, 5th Harmony and Meghan Trainor.

Olivia is also part of many clubs in and out of school comprising of drama, guitar lessons, gymnastics, archery. She enjoys bike rides and going swimming and is slowly getting over her reluctance to try new things whether it be food, activities or just doing as she is told! Saying this however she is just as comfortable in front of a screen as she is playing the good old fashioned way. More of an expert online than I am and revels in forcing me to watch endless reruns of our her favourite Disney Channel Shows!

Olivia has a tendency to display stereotypical single child syndrome behaviour but she is surrounded by what seems to be an ever expanding close knit family circle of my 3 sisters who have given her 4 cousins to play with as much as she wants thank to us all living within walking distance of each other. Her dad is also a huge part of her life despite us not being together anymore and she sees him regularly too.

If you have liked what you have read then please do feel free to get in touch. Whether it’s just to say hi or if you would like to collaborate with either myself or Olivia we can be found quite easy on social media or via email

Nice idea to give a little background information. You mention leaving school and going to work to earn a living :- Something which was frequently said by previous generations. As that seemed the aim. You mention not quite finding your place in life, or making your mark :- Maybe that is yet to come. If you like writing, maybe writing a book is a possibility for you. Others have done so. Wishing you well with your Aspirations. Be True to Yourself.

Love the blog name and writing style. Thanks for liking That’s a Morey Blog on Facebook. What is your book about? I just wrote and published one myself about asking God to help me find my dream job…in 30 days. I’m currently working on a children’s series.
